“Um clássico que não caiu no esquecimento”
A história do game mostra que Payne tornou-se um policial triste e amargurado após ter perdido sua família, fato ocorrido no game anterior, mostra também que o protagonista envolve-se novamente em uma relação amorosa, mas não consegue de maneira alguma esboçar um sorriso.
Jogo com ar de filme
Max Payne 2, pode ser considerado um clássico na história dos games, você não tem a impressão de estar jogando e sim assistindo a um filme ou seriado.
O jogador não entende nada o que se passa em seu redor no início do jogo, tem como informação somente as recordações que volta e meia voltam à tona na memória do personagem principal, isso, claro, aguça a curiosidade do jogador em saber o porquê de tudo aquilo estar acontecendo. Na medida em que o jogador avança, vai descobrindo organizações criminosas, traições e reencontra “velhos amigos”, tudo isso monta o engenho de um enredo envolvente, que com certeza atrai a maioria dos jogadores.
O ar depressivo que o game possui é notável, a começar pela cidade em que se passa a trama, uma Nova Iorque chuvosa que não vê o raiar do sol. Os diálogos são negativos, cheio de histórias interminadas e mistérios. Não se vê durante o jogo todo um sorriso que seja de alegria, somente são utilizados para expressar ironia.
Para quebrar um pouco esse clima, o game trás algumas partes cômicas. Por exemplo, em algumas situações é possível espreitar os bandidos imitando mulheres ricas e esnobes, em outras, ouvir um ladrão contando paro outro o fora que tomou da namorada, é difícil conter o riso quando essas coisas aparecem.
A História
Tudo se inicia em um hospital, Payne está gravemente ferido, e sabe que precisa fugir, só não se lembra o porque. Após livrar-se dos aparelhos o controle passa a ser do jogador, na medida que o jogo avança, Max vai tendo fracas recordações de tudo que passou até chegar ali, e após algumas tonturas e “flashbacks”, se depara com o cadáver de Detetive Winterson, que ele próprio havia matado, a partir daí, Payne começa a contar seu trajeto até chegar ao hospital, então, a verdadeira ação começa para o jogador.
Max Payne havia retornado a policia de Nova Iorque após passar algum período trabalhando contra o tráfico de drogas, está fazendo a ronda em uma noite, até q
ue recebe uma ocorrência de disparos em um antigo galpão, ao ir até o local, Payne começa a se envolver em uma história misteriosa, que vai sendo desvendada na medida que o jogador avança.
“Bullet Time” e “Quadrinhos”
Duas coisas que chamam a atenção no jogo, são o efeito Bullet Time, e as tiras de quadrinhos que aparecem durante a transição de fases.
O Bullet Time, fez muito sucesso na época do lançamento do game, com apenas um clique o jogador pode, por alguns segundos, manter tudo ao seu redor em câmera lenta, e até mesmo desviar das balas, é muito divertido no começo, porém após algumas utilizações do recurso, não é incomum o jogador acioná-lo apenas por necessidade.
As tiras de quadrinho foi uma boa aposta da Rockstar, pois apesar do jogo possuir um sistema de cutscenes muito bom, Max Payne 2, teve como sua marca registrada, os quadrinhos.
Dificuldade? Nenhuma!
Definitivamente, dificuldade não é o forte de Max Payne 2, as fases são bem curtas, ao todo, o jogo tem 24 fases divididas em 3 partes, porém, 3 são prólogos e outras 3 são pesadelos, nesses capítulos não existe nenhum desafio, ou ameaça ao jogador... Servem apenas para dar sentido ao enredo, com isso, o jogo na verdade possui 18 fases.
O jogo pode ser facilmente finalizado em 12 horas, sem nenhum problema.
Jogabilidade
A jogabilidade do game é boa, tendo em vista que games em 3º pessoa costumam serem complicados a adequação do jogador. Em Max Payne 2, com uma ou duas fases de jogo, o jogador já está completamente “entrosado” com o estilo e velocidade da câmera, além dos movimentos do personagem, quando as teclas são acionadas.
O protagonista é bem ágil, isso atrapalha um pouco, pois em algumas situações pode-se morrer de bobeira, como, por exemplo, andar no meio fio de uma sacada a 10 andares do chão, um aperto mais forte no botão e tudo pode ir a ruína, porém, em outras situações, essa rapidez pode ser útil, como quando se é necessário fugir, ou chegar em algum lugar antes que seja tarde demais.
Gráficos
Os gráficos do jogo são excelentes, por ser um jogo de 2003, hoje em dia poderia desanimar os jogadores a jogá-lo, já que atualmente temos Elder Scrolls IV, Battlefield 2142, etc. Mas não é isso que acontece, os gráficos de Max Payne 2 foram tão bons pra época, que até os dias de hoje são aceitáveis aos jogadores.
As expressões faciais também são boas, apesar de não serem muito visíveis durante a ação do jogo, podem ser bem observadas muito bem nas cutscenes.
Sons
Os efeitos sonoros são bons, apesar de limitados, tiros, sirenes, freadas de carros, e claro, a chuva e os trovões foram bem reproduzidos, a trilha sonora, com base em “Late goodbye” foi bem associada ao game, além do solo no violino, que acompanha o jogador em todos os momentos.
Inteligência Artificial
A Inteligência Artificial do jogo é o ponto mais fraco do game... Seus inimigos são burros, não sabem se esconder, os personagens não jogáveis (NPCs) só entendem algo a sua volta quando algum inimigo aparece no cômodo, ou ficam em seu campo de visão, isso deixa o game muito fácil.
Conclusão
Bem, existem games que passam e ninguém nota, outros que passam e todos desejam esquecer, e existem os clássicos, que é o caso de Max Payne 2.
Um jogo com uma história bem elaborada, com os melhores gráficos pra sua época e que arrasta milhares de fãs pelo mundo, com certeza mereceria uma continuação, desfrutando das novas tecnologias disponíveis e com uma I.A melhor. Porém, beirando 6 anos do lançamento desse belíssimo jogo, a cada dia que passa, a esperança de um novo título para série parece mais distante, o que é uma pena.
